FEEL THE FREEZE - Investigate what happens when you freeze different things

WHAT DO YOU NEED?
A collection of different household items (water, cooking oil, honey, bread, butter, toothpaste, pasta etc.)
Ziplock bags
Freezer

STEPS
1. Place a small spoonful of each material in separate ziplock bags.
2. Record what the material looks like and how it feels. (Is it a liquid or solid, does it smell, what colour is it? etc).
3. Place the bags in the freezer and leave them there overnight.
4. The next day, remove the bags from the freezer one at a time and look at what they are like now. Look at your notes from yesterday, have the materials changed, in what way?

WHAT IS THE SECRET?!!!
Changing the temperature of the environment can change how a material behaves. By putting your bags in the freezer you changed the temperature of the environment they were in. cooling some materials can change the way they behave, for example it can cause some liquids to change into soilds, like water to ice.
