MAKE YOUR OWN SUNSET - Why are sunsets yellowy red?WHAT DO YOU NEED?
Clear plastic box
1. Fill your box water.
2. Add a small spoonful of milk to the water and gently stir.
3. Shine your torch onto the water. Shine the light straight down to see what the sun looks like at midday.
4. Shine the torch sideways to see what the sun looks like at sunset.
WHAT IS THE SECRET?!!!
The Earth’s atmosphere is filled with millions of dust particles. These particles scatter light, the red and yellow light made by the sun is harder to scatter which is why we see these colours at sunset.
